Quick hat tip to Pardon My Take for making this segment mainstream and took it from His and Hers.
I’m gonna go with Finished is worse than Done. So I would say they are Done, but not finished. I think that the Cavs chances of coming back to win the series are so slim at this point that we can basically assume that the Warriors will be this years NBA Champions. No team has ever come back from down 3-1 in the NBA finals, so history is definitely not on the Cavs side. Now many will point to the Warriors in the Western Conference finals and say that they were able to come back from being down 3-1 so maybe the Cavs can too. Unfortunately for Cleveland this is a completely different situation. One Cleveland is not the Warriors; the Warriors are clearly the better team and in the Western Conference OKC was just out playing GSW, but GSW still had the talent to win. Also in order to win the series Cleveland would have to win 2 games on the road in oppose to Golden State who only had to win one. Its such a difficult task to win in Orcle that I dont think the Cavs has what it tasks to win one game there let alone two.
If the Cavs want to have a chance in this series they are gonna need to stop with iso play every five seconds. I’m not sure what it is about the Cavs and most of the NBA, but sometimes they bring the ball up the court and develop a beautiful play to get a good shot off. Then the next play there is barely any passing or play development, it becomes a one on one game for 15 seconds and they usually get an awful shot off. I think Tyronn Lue made the correct call to have Love come off the bench, but I don’t think he used him correctly. In the second half of game 4 the Cavaliers defensive intensity diminished and they couldn’t do a thing to stop the Warriors offense. This is where I would take Love out immediately because he can’t defend anyone. Also maybe throw Delly in for 10 minutes to make Curry uncomfortable, It’s underrated how easily a player can get in Curry’s head if you are physical with him. He gets uncomfortable quickly if you constantly have a hand on him and make you presence felt (even though he does the same to everyone else). I hope the Cavs can somehow find away to beat the Warriors in game 5 because id love to see a game 6, but I just can’t see it happening.
