This team is full of first time Olympians, with only Carmelo and Durant having played in previous Olympics. This team is not as impressive as years past because so many top players dropped out. Still despite how many have dropped out team USA will have more talent than any other team and they should be the clear favorites. It’s good to see new faces for the team USA. We’ve had so many repeat players like Lebron and Kobe, that its nice to see a team made up of first time Olympians. Hopefully because they haven’t had a chance to compete in the Olympics before, they will play extra hard to try to get the gold; since this may be their only chance. I think Draymond will be coming for every team so they might want to cover up their balls. Carmelo Loves the Olympics and I think he’ll play well. Part of the problem with the Olympics for team USA is getting everyone playing time. NBA players do not agree to come compete in the Olympics just to sit on the bench.

A fun story line is that two players will be suiting up to play for their former college coaches. Carmelo played for Jim Boeheim at Syracus and Boeheim is the assistant Coach. Kyrie played at Duke for Mike Kryzewski and Coach K is the Head coach for Team USA

As the Olympics get closer I will write another article about the outlook of team USA and who some of their biggest competition might be.
